It is these days that I feel my burden ? I
can?t clear all the clutter in my mind to
get to the joy and grace that is right in
front of me. But as Jesus said, 'I will
give you rest¯. And he is right ? it is in
him that I find that peace. I spend an
extra moment after Mass, watching the
light stream through the windows and
give thanks for all that he has given me.
And reflect on how what I thought were
burdens, obligations, responsibilities are
actually those things I should be most
grateful for ? loved ones, a good job,
and the opportunities to share all I have
with those in my life.
Prayer
I always carry a small book of short
prayers with me (Prayers with Purpose for
Women). It often helps me find the words when they escape me. This prayer
comes from that book:
Lord, I want things to different in my life ? but there are so many obstacles. I
need energy and motivation to get going. I need finances and more time. More
than anything, I need to trust You more. Nothing is too difficult for You, Father.
You can do anything! Despite all my needs and distractions, please bring into my
life favor and openings ? please make a way. I ask that You would help me
achieve the goals in my life that are best suited for Your good purposes. Amen.
